Does it have a 1inch headset ?
Do the letter prefix's on the SN match the JAJ ?
or are they something completely different.
1989 _seems_ to be the changeover year to fitting the canti mounts & the 1 1/18th headset.
The cro mo Quad frames seem hard to exactly date from ~1986 to 1990 unless you bought it new or can find someone with a close serial number who bought it new like I did.
This one is an 1989 model according to the original owner , who I got the JAJXXX SN off...

All I need is a set of 1/8th headset shims to fit my 1inch Bottema's & Tuff neck into it & I'll have the ultimate best of both worlds Quadangle. More triangles in the frame than you can poke a stick at , cro mo tubing vs mild steel , good welding all round & a roomier ride.
Unless there are people who regularly thrash their loopback 1980 Quads on the track & street , with no worries about bending them....Brave souls with fat wallets
maybe.
Retro bikes have some distinct advantages , especially when it comes to Quadangles.

Skyway Frame Serial Numbers Identification
Re: SKYWAY serial number i.d. On the round part that your cranks go into, it is called a bb, bottom brackett.i do not think the serial number has anything to do with production date on those.since they also stamped the production date beside it.I think they were made 85 to89 maybe.rp. Not sure about serial number. Maybe an email to Niner would figure that out. In the meantime, here is their encyclopedia. Page 26 shows how to identify the year/version frame you have based on the characteristics of the frame.
